Portrait Series on Furries!

topic posted Mon, October 8, 2007 - 2:17 PM by  alex
Hi all! My name is Alex and I am a photojournalism major at San Francisco State University. My friend Paul and I are looking to do a portrait series of furries in the Bay Area. I shoot with a digital 20D and a Leica m3, and Paul shoots with a Hasseleblad camera, so if you are interested in getting a free portrait taken of you and any of your friends who are furries, please let us know, they are going to be truly high quality pictures. And of course, we will hook you up with free copies of the pictures.

    Hey Alex!

Thanks for the offer. You may also try posting on some of the other places local furries like to hang out. Such as the Bay Area Furs mailing list (www.fur.com/mailman/listinfo/baf) or on livejournal.

Also, by furries, do you mean fursuiters? Are you interested in photographing people in costumes/full fursuits or all those who identify as furries (I'd guess less than 20% of furries actually have fursuits, as furry also implies an interest in the medium of drawn art/comics and literature as well).

And there's a furry convention in San Jose this winter. ( furtherconfusion.com ). You could always try and make it down to that, and set up somewhere to do portraits. Most of the attendees are from distant locations (100+ miles away), and with almost 2000 furries there, you'd have plenty to photograph!
