So ya thought that tribe.net was dead huh. Well, you're still here too.
Further Confusion is just around the corner, and I think it'd be great to continue our tradition of having a get together / party at FC again this year. We have a room on the party floor that we are welcome to do something in. I can bring some gear and equipment to make it happen as well. Myself, I've always been fond of both that we dop a chill space, and also that we have a more mature crowd (read: not xxx, but mature as in not immature kids doing stupid things).
We've always had some of the best people pass through the room parties, so why not keep the tradition alive? Anyone game?

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Thu, January 4, 2007 - 8:16 PMyes, we must keep the tradition alive. participation is a part of what we enjoy doing, so it's hard for many of us to go to an event like FC and just spectate. the 2nd floor has been set up as the party floor for just this reason, but unfortunately, we've been the only ones to actually utilize it to throw parties (most people get rooms on their floors to be close to the parties, but when everyone is there to be close, but no one doing, well.....)
so yes, we'll do it again, and in style.

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Fri, January 5, 2007 - 2:26 PMBosn has donated the use of his room for Saturday night. He plans on being up all night, so we can go as late as we want. The nice thing about this is that it won't cost us a thing, the disadvantage is that it's his room, and when we are done with it, we'll have to close up the room (can't let anyone crash in it overnight).
In past years, we've tried to run a bar to help with the cost of the room. This has always kinda been a headache, and we've usually really had to push it and struggle, and that didn't really cover the room cost anyways. I suggest this year, we just keep it byob, or if anyone wants to bring beer (or drinks) to share, I'll bring a cooler. This way we can focus on the fun!
I'll also bring some blacklights and blacklight art (mostly fur panels), and maybe a digital projector with some furry dvd's.
Anyone else want to do anything special? -

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Fri, January 5, 2007 - 4:26 PMWell if me and some pals go I will let you huys know. If I do then I can bring a cooler with drinks, etc. I also have tons of blacklites. (have too when you have several faux fur blacklite reactive outfits) I may also be able to bring some snacks for humans and animal friendly ones too.

Fri, January 5, 2007 - 4:28 PMSorta on topic....
My friend wants to wear his ponyplay outfit , would this be acceptable. It is bdsm-ish...we can take off the horse size dildo ofcourse. Any ideas, he loves being a pony and would like to attend th con as such.
I can provide a pic if people need an idea of what I am talking about. -

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Sun, January 7, 2007 - 8:57 PMThe rules stipulate no fetish/bondage gear in public areas... but... I see it every year and it's never a problem. I think ponyplay stuff is okay as long as it's kid and mother approved. ;)
I say BRING IT! :)

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Mon, January 8, 2007 - 5:06 PMAi... Saturday night will be the party.
I plan on already bringing tons of blacklights, so don't bother bringing those. But feel free to bring things that glow under blacklights!
Snacks and drinkies, yes, those are wonderful ways to share.
Horse attire, in our party, it's ok, as that is a private space that we are opening to the public, rather than a public space. So long as you don't offend anyone else at the party, go for it I say. But yes, the general FC policy in public spaces is no fetish attire. But that does not mean leather is not ok. Does mean dildo's are a no-no, and so are outfits that show off to much skin in the wrong places. Leashes are one thing they discourage, but you always see a few people with, so that might be the same as some bridal (is that what it's called) attire associated with horse attire.
I will make up some fliers that we can pass around that have the room # and info on it. I'll print them at home, and cut them out and bring them up to the con. We will be the best chill space at the con on saturday night, and look forward to making some new furry friends!

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Wed, January 10, 2007 - 10:17 AMSo I was going to print up some little fliers that we can hand out at the con, to let know about our nightime party. But rather than do the standard club type flier, listing dj's and performers, or anything like that, I instead want to put something like "The FurTribe Chill out Party, with Hosts (or hosted by: names listed here". And I'd like to include the names of anyone who's interested in helping out, being a part of that party. So if you want your name listed on the flier, post your name here. I'll have extra copies of the fliers to give to people early in the con too (I'll be there Thursday.)
As for the times of the party. There's a schedule on furtherconfusion.com ( furtherconfusion.com/fc2007/...yday.php ) for what's going on at the con in general. From 9:30-11:00 there is a band ( www.sublevel3.us/ ) at the convention. They are being hyped up by the convention, but I think after one or two songs, the audience will quickly be leaving (if you listed to them, you will understand what i'm saying) and looking for better things to do. But while they arn't that great, at least they arn't annoyingly painful. That doesn't start until 11:30 on the main stage when there is a drum and bass dj, followed at 1:00am by a hardcore/gabber dj who is sure to clear that room. So that's what's going on music/entertainment wise at the con on Saturday night. Not alot of competition, really, so we should get a good crowd (but hopefully not to crowded.) Other than that, the only thing I see that looks like it might be alot of fun, which some of us might be interested in checking out, is a panel discussion from 11-12 on Animal Role Play (Pet-Play Discussion). This is an adult one discussion on all kinds of animal role play (master, puppy, pony, training, discipline, etc...) As for myself, I'm not interested in catching any of those events, but I'm on the convention staff (av crew), and might get pulled into helping to break down/move some stuff around for about half an hour during the night, so I'll be in and out as well (as you are all welcome to do!)
And if you've never been to the convention before, I encourage you to check out furtherconfusion.com for the events calendar to see what's going on. During the daytime there are alot of panel discussions going on, from costuming to drawing anthropomorphic art to random things like animal spirituality to high tech espionage equipment (ya, not very furry, but the sub-theme this year is 007- spy stuff). In the evenings, there's alot of things like the Masquarade and Furry Variety Show, which can be hit or miss (and also broadcast over the hotel TV show if you'd rather watch it from afar so you don't have to painfully sit through a 45 minute set of a bunny belly dancing, just so you can catch a great 1 minute skit of a bunch of racoons).
so that's the update for the party.
a personal side note: I'll be DJ'ing the opening night dance at the con on Thursday. From 9:00-11:30. This is in the large conferance room downstairs (the main stage doesn't open till Friday). I'll be playing alot of euro-dance, cyber trance, synthpop, electro, and breaks. I'm looking forward to opening FC up, and warming up the crowd for the rest of the weekend. Be sure to come hear my play, if you are there Thursday! Closing FC on Sunday, is our own DJ Mermaid. She'll be playing the main room from midnight - 1:30am. I think it's great that we have two of our own opening and closing the con. We're like DJ Bookends! -

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Sat, January 13, 2007 - 2:13 AMI'm totally down for helping out where I can. I want to check out that discussion on role-play too. As a matter of fact, I know the person giving the talk, so I am extra interested in being there. Other than that, the Furtribe party is about the only thing I'll be doing on saturday. I might peek into the other spaces and head to the main room to see what's up, but if it's anything like last year... then meh. -

Re: Furtribe at Further Confusion
Tue, January 16, 2007 - 10:04 PMNot sure what the room # for the furtribe chill party will be (won't know till I get there Thursday). It will definetly be on the second floor though. I've also made some flyers (blue, colorful, say Chill Out Party, and has a raver tiger going plurrrrrrr.). I have a whole stack if anyone wants any.
I'll be setting up the room on saturday evening some time. Probably around 6pm or so, if anyone wants to help. I'm bringing blacklights, so definetly bring some stuff that is all fun and glowwy!
I'll also have my cell phone if anyone wants to check in and say hi, or find out what the room number for the party will be.
